Scratching is an original photo of Nate's Mom which was which was entered in a Scholastic Arts & Photography Awards student photography contest.  The back of the photo included the original contest entry form which incorrectly lists Nate’s home address as Waterman, he lived on Woodlawn.    Nate was 13 years old when he took this photograph while attending Coolidge Middle School in Granite City, Illinois.
