Self Portrait is an early self portrait that Nate painted of himself during his Senior year of high school before going to study Fine Art at Southwest Missouri State University.  Nate was 18 years old when he created this artwork while attending Granite City High School in Granite City, Illinois.

In 1997 after Nate's passing, the painting was framed to include a poem written by his friend Damon.
