Nathan had the most kindest heart and held a unique ability to express himself to me through writing, conversation, and artwork in a way that I will never forget. I miss and think of him often.

Nathan was one of the sweetest young men in the school. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. There d be more like him. The world would be a better place.

I went to GC High with Nathan and I have too many funny stories and fond memories to chose just one. We kind of lost touch after college(I moved to Vegas)but one of the last times I saw Nate was at a Dead show in St. Louis. I heard someone calling my name and then, out of nowhere, Nathan tackled me on the grass and stuck his tongue in my ear! We chatted for a little while, although I doubt either of us made any sense, and then he gave me this Fat Albert "hey hey hey not fade away" T- shirt. I still have it. Although we lost touch before he passed away, I often thought of him and still do- that's how I found this website. Nathan was such an amazing person and a kind soul.... you just wanted to be around him, and that's what I remember most

This was Nate's most creative artistic period. These 4 years made him a hometown legend of sorts. What I remember most about the high school years is how much FUN we all were having. Spent many Saturday mornings waiting in line behind the Record Company to buy concert tickets and hoping our line number got drawn first to get the best seats (man did we see a TON of shows). Things really got hopping once everyone got their driver's licenses. There was one time when a group of us were going to a college fair and got into a bit of an "incident". I was the driver and the others in the car (Nate being one of them) were tossing water balloons out the car onto the street. Well, there was a jogger on a nearby sidewalk who became a target and bull’s eye he got hit by a water balloon. Everyone got a chuckle and we continued to the college fair. When we got home, our parents were NOT pleased at all because the jogger had called my folks who then called everyone else's folks! The jogger had jogged home in 40 degree temperatures all wet and extremely ticked off. He had a police connection and had gotten my parents phone number by running a check on the car's license plate. All the guy wanted was a written apology from all of us and there would be no charges pressed. We promptly wrote the guy a HUGE apology and we all got some serious grounding. One summer Nate attended an art camp at Notre Dame. There was an assignment to go outside and draw whatever moves you. When the artists returned, they commented on each other’s work. Nate ended up drawing a tree or something and the teacher asked Nate why he chose the subject and colors for his piece. In typical Nate fashion, he said well the tree was in front of me and the colors were on my palette. Art came so second hand to him that he never really got into serious critiquing of the how's and why's of art. He just did it and if he liked it that was good enough
