I traveled over to Nate's house with my roomate Tim O several times in college. Nate always made me feel welcome and happy I showed up at his house. He had a pet iguana I use to get out and walk around the party with. It was always laid back and friendly just like Nate. I think Dumper and I ate all the iguana food one night as a snack. Love the Art

I had Nathan in my Art Class. One of several we would have together. I always admired the way he could make things come to life on paper. For a time, i wish I could have 1/2 the talent he had. I didn't find out about his passing until i met up with a friend one day that knew him well. It was a sad sad day. You could always find him smiling and goofing off. It's intriguing to see what happened to him after H.S.

I was living at my father's house in GC. He was always on me about messing up the yard and people parking with their tires in the grass. Anyway, one day there is a knock at the door and it's Nathan. We hang out talking on the couch for about an hour or so. As he gets up to leave, I walk him to the door. It is then that I notice the Bronco parked in the Front Yard. As he exited my front door and took about 2 steps, he opened the passenger door and slid over to the drivers seat. He didn't say a word as he drove off leaving tread marks in my father's grass. Typical Nathan.

good to find this. Thanks Elliot. Not much to say right now other than float trips and that a picture of one we all went on is still on my wall to this day. All is well on my end - out here in Denver. I hope all is well with everyone

"Riding with Nate" - I needed a ride back to school after Christmas break. Nate agreed to meet me in the Sears parking lot of the Chesterfield Mall, our standard meeting place. My step-dad, Bob and I pull up to Nates’ big white bronco. He hops out in his orange chucks, paint smeared jeans he’d probably worn all semester and the orange Hawaiian shirt. (You know the one I’m talking about!) He and I are chatting away as Bob opens the back of the Bronco to load my things and gets a little surprise as there sits Bucko, basking in the sun. Nate chuckles, gets Bucko sets him in the front dash. Once loaded, off we go, Bucko on the front dash, Nate multi-tasking at the wheel (smoke, soda and digging for CD’s in the back floor board). Bob follows us back out and to the highway as Nate hits several curbs in the parking lot. I know Bob was probably thinking, “who did I just send my daughter off with?”. December 1995, Nathan and I graduate together. Together with our families we celebrated at a Japanese Steak house afterward. So Bob did get to see that Nate really did have it together.

Elliot, Nathan and I decided to go play in the rain one afternoon. I'm sure at least one of us should have been in class. I lived in an apartment on Kimbrough with Heather at the time and we were just running around in the rain. Heather has video of Elliot and Nate standing beside the road daring the passing cars to drive through the standing water and splash them. From outside the cameras view comes splashes from behind them. I was standing behind them kicking water from a puddle at their backs. They both turned around and took out after me all through the nearby yards. Of course, they caught me and threw me right into the puddle. Ended with me laying in the puddle and the two of them looking quite satisfied.

Nate was one of the nicest BROTHERS to everyone, especially the younger guys. I remember his hands were always scratched up from that IGUANA he loved so much. What a talented person he was, his apartment was decorated with some of his great pictures. It saddened me to hear he is no longer with us.

Hey everybody! I have tried so many times to write something here, but it is so hard to sum up. These years were some of the best and craziest times of my life and it is especially difficult to do justice to the main character who made every day so fun and filled with mischief. I definitely cherish my crazy days and all of my friends who were deviants with me. I definitely think we all should say thanks to Kris for putting together this amazing website and show our appreciation by submitting stories to share and reconnect with. As Steve Neer and I both said we need to "represent". After all these were our boy's "hay days"! I guess I always hesitate to write anything specific in here about my memories because they are all so crewd, rude and lewd, but I certainly enjoyed every minute of it. Steve and Nate were like brothers to Lisa and I and the 4 of us were together all the time. I love and miss you all.

Who was the owner of the piranha that bit Nates tongue?

The Piranha was in my roommate Darin's tank when we lived on Normal. The dare that he took to bite the head off back-fired a bit. But, it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

I can remember a certain party in 1992 or so that was spread across 2 houses when we lived on National Avenue. There was quite a group living in close proximity. In one house, we had Coop, Drace, Fox and Raz. In the next house there was Rob Johnson, Elliot Cone, Jason Hammonds, Brad Lagarce and myself. The party was considerably loud and out of hand after a couple of kegs. The cops showed up and I was consequently hauled off for disturbing the peace. In the middle of having a houseful of cops, Nate and Trevor Marshall managed to sneak the keg out the door and load it, barrel tub and all) into Trevor's VW Beetle. The party moved to the Normal house where Nate, Trevor, Steve Neer and Bucko were living at the time. I was bailed out of the pokey within an hour or so and we finished the night at the Normal pad chasing the beer with Southern Comfort. I think I may still owe somebody bail money. HAPPY B-DAY Nate, we miss you.

Spencer, I think it was me, your little brother, who bailed you out of jail that night. Everyone else who lived in that house on National (Eliot, Dumper and Rob)told the cops they didn't know who lived there. At least thats what I told them when they asked me! I recall the day I showed up to Nate, Neer and Trevors place on Normal, we were neighbors at the time. All the furniture in the place had been destroyed. I'm still not sure what happened the night before but it sounded like Nate and Neer had too much Jack Daniels or Mad Dog 20/20 and decided to bust up everything, including the TV. There were bits and peices everywhere and from what I remeber, they were both content with the results of the nights 'work'. All I know is that if you ever wanted to be entertained, put Nate and Neer together and just add Booze. You never knew what was going to happen but you knew you would always end up with a great story.
